CONTEXT

In addition to heavy machinery began, on instructions from the police elements, to dig trenches and build walls. BACKGROUND

The villagers since 2002 have made the legitimate defense of 97 hectares of land, as a result have been subjected to various repressive measures in these events have always involved police forces and government officials of the state and federal .

In January 2005 fourteen community members, including one woman, were arrested and imprisoned unjustly, state and federal authorities violated legal and constitutional precepts.

in December 2007 were destroyed three houses belonging to heavy machinery, families were inside.

In May 2008 he was temporarily detained, disappeared and tortured the commoner Moisés Molina Rodríguez, in poor condition is released.

In June 2008 the commoner José Reyes Aguilar is attacked with firearms by members of the State Judicial Police (PJE), who attempted without warrants to take his wife as a result of this aggression lost his left leg.

On July 4, 2008 is temporarily detained, disappeared and tortured for 17 hours and responsible community member of the Legal Commission of the organization referred to Cruz who was Queen Avenicio threatened with death if he continued to fight and defend the land.

complaints have been made by these facts to the State Attorney, there is no progress, only received as a response of denial and abuse of officials.

Given the state government has begun negotiating table and no progress respect to these facts, though we are in dialogue presents the items and remove police violence to our partners in their jobs.

responsible for these actions in collusion with the Public Security police forces referred to are the business groups known as The Organization and Medina Ramírez, companies business located in the State of Michoacan, as well as employees at your service Mr. Guadalupe Carreon Guide, and the court officer Agrio No. 36 Vicente Marín Gallegos, both responsible for the detention and temporary disappearance of Avenicio Reina Cruz.

In this context, we believe that the rights violated by the 22 families in the community of Uruapilla are set out in Articles 14 and 16 of the Constitution of the United Mexican States, and 3, 5, 12.17, 22, 23 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
